| In historical atmosphere you yourself bake your own bread in the former public bread oven of Intragna. The village's master baker is of your assistance. While you are still strolling leisurely through the narrow lanes of Intragna, the preparations for baking bread together are on their way. In the venerable village museum the master baker already has begun to preheat the former public bread oven which for many generations had loyally served the locals, the "Intragnesi". Additionally, the master baker prepares according to old tradition the dough for your bread baking adventure. We interrupt our tour at the right moment and
direct our steps to the museum. There we briefly watch the
master baker heat up the oven - that has been preheated for two
days - to its final temperature. In the meantime he will tell
you more about the history of the oven and explain the oven's particularities. Later, after we have completed our tour, you can pick up your selfmade bread - freshly baked and smelling deliciously. Buon appetito - enjoy your bread!
Offer includes 2 days of preheating the oven, explanations by master baker and about 0.9 pounds (400 g) bread dough (yields about 0.7 pounds (300 g) of baked bread). |
